“There are a few things to consider when you're choosing products with which to clean your kids' furniture. You want to use the least intensive chemicals or cleaners possible to get the level of clean you need in your home.

The level of clean we need in our home is not the level of clean we need in a hospital. You don't need that level of sterility, and it really would be dangerous to achieve that on an everyday basis. The type of chemicals that you would need would be very very intense. So we need to get our surfaces clean. The kids' surfaces, clean with minimal fumes, minimal residues, and being mindful of just having these products in the house at all. And so with cleaning kids furniture, you want to use soap because soap removes things, it doesn't kill per se. It does kill somewhat, but it's actually, its strength is in removing germs, removing dirt. And this is the best that we can have at home. Soap and water has never been beat as far as everyday cleaning goes for our bodies and for our houses.

The other advantages to soap is that you have minimal fumes and it's very clean rinsing. Soap is attracted to water. So when you use a damp cloth, it's actually being attracted to the water in the cloth and it wipes right off. And you also wanna be mindful of just having these products in your house. I mean, we all take care and we put them away and such, but kids are ingenious, they get into places they shouldn't be. And we wanna make sure that even if that sort of situation were to arise, there isn't a product around that will be very very harmful to them.

And so keeping all of these things in mind, as you're choosing your cleaning products mean you wanna go as low as possible to get the cleaning that you need. And really soap and water or other green cleaners, such as vinegar are the best options for cleaning kids furniture.”
